Nate has been very sick for the past few days with a high fever and nausea. Last night they finally figured it out. He has a blood yeast infection because of his pic line. They had to remove the pic line and tpa (which is his food drip). He now has a regular IV so he can receive antibiotics, etc. Hopefully they can see some improvements in the next 24 hours. Please pray for him that the meds will work and it will not turn into sepces. Also if he can start to eat enough they will not need to put in another pic line.
They now think that it is the yeast infection that is making him so sick, probably not the flu. (don’t know if that is good or bad?) The Dr. said that it just beats you up making you feel like you have been run over by a truck.

Nate: I am so sorry to hear about all of your problems. It's been a while since I got an update and this came as a big surprise. I too have counted the number of holes in the ceiling tile and it ain't fun. I will review my prayer book to see if I have one for complications of Lyme disease or Ulcerative Colitis. If such a prayer does not exist I surely will have your name in the Vernal Temple. I am assured that all names on the prayer roles in this temple get help quick. Or ... at least it works for me. I trust your doctors are looking out for you too. I do have in my book a prayer for doctors. I have been blessed by that one many times and many ways. Keep the faith, you are learning patience (patients??). You are learning a lot about medicine from the patient side. What you learn will be a great asset one day. I hope your learning experience and medical education get over soon.
